Grasshopper

This grasshopper flew into our living room a few days ago. Seemed to disappear for a bit, but reappeared tonight while I was burning the midnight oil working on some software. When he flew into a more accessible spot on the curtains, I angled for a shot.

Fuji S2 Pro

I've been neglecting my digital SLR for quite some time now while I stubbornly tried to continue shooting primarily medium and large format film despite the fact that the film industry has essentially been flushed down the tubes ages ago. However, a few events conspired to get me back to using the S2 Pro in addition to the above when Kenny Sia bought a Nikon D40 and the whole "do it the traditional way" wasn't really working out in practical terms, I decided to go back to the Fuji. Also, for the last 2 years I've been obsessing about whether I had a focus problem with my S2 Pro or not, and tonight, I took some shots (including the grasshopper shot posted after this post) that will have finally put that doubt to rest (not really sure at all why I was so troubled by the sharpness these last 2 years).

Allergic to something!

Aaaaargh! Nowhere near as dramatic and bloody as Kenny Sia's cut finger, but last Thursday night my fingers started itching from something, no firm idea what caused it since there's so much that happened on Thursday. Anyway, today, my left hand is all swollen up and itchy (my right hand is just itchy), but it's got me worried about the ring! Well, I suppose as long as the blood supply doesn't get cut off, I'm alright...

Maynooth

Still more scanned films from the past, this one from my trip to visit Intel Ireland at the end of 2005. I stayed at the Glenroyal Hotel just nearby in Maynooth, of which there really wasn't much to see, but I did like this shot of their church.
